Some areas indeed were colonized for three.5 generations (as an example Batavia/Jakarta and areas of the Moluccas), other elements ended up dominated by the Dutch for many two centuries (including almost all of Java) but most other parts of this massive archipelago ended up progressively conquered about the course on the nineteenth and early 20th c
